Weekend Vibes
Good morning from Edinburgh! After a few crazy weeks of work and travel for both Blake and I, we decided to head north and celebrate his birthday a couple days early with Scotch tasting and highland hiking. The perfect antidote to this rural girl's city living as of late.
Since our move I’ve been learning adapt to life at a new pace. Have you ever navigated the tube at rush hour in London? Your option is to move or be moved- stampede fears become real. The constant hustle often leaves me worn out, on edge, and [occasionally] unpleasant. And while I can’t change the pressures of work or London pace, what I can control is how I respond when the pace picks up. A few rituals that I’m working to adopt are evening runs and baths so unwind, dinner by candlelight, and making sure I get time in a large green park for serval hours over the weekend. London has some of the most incredible parks right in the city, which has made exploring the city and making time for recuperation doable all on one day. But this weekend we’re getting our green on in the rolling hills of Scotland and I’m thrilled.
The plan includes celebrating the heck out of Blake- my absolute rock, BFF, and partner in crime (and life). If we can squeeze in some other activities I will head home a happy lady.
Have any of you spent time in Edinburgh? Recommendations on must do activities? How about rituals for slowing down? What are your favorite ways to unwind?
Here are a few things we hope to do while here along with a round up of my favorite things on the web after an emotionally exhausting week for all of Americas.
Happy weekend. Rest up, ladies.
When in Scotland with your guy scotch tasting is a must.
Highlands? Yes, please. Planning a day hike out here and the hills are about to come alive.
The Elephant House, birth of Harry Potter himself.
Because castles cover Europe and I am forever amazed by their beauty. Edinburgh castle is a must see.
And here are a few other things floating around that you should know about-
Thanksgiving on the mind? I’m hosting my first dinner and plan to use this blog post as my bible.
Dark days are trying to bring me down. I’m battling back with these tips.
When I was in Brooklyn I picked up this candle and it transported me home. Perfect Christmas gifts I might add.
Xoxo
